University Districts

University Districts

The University Districts are spaces where campus and community join in Trent’s mission of learning and discovery. These include established campus spaces, but also projects getting under way and lands reserved for future use in furthering the University’s mission.

The Campus Core

The University’s primary location for academic buildings, student housing, and administrative functions. Located in the centre of the Symons Campus, the Campus Core is anchored by some of the original Ron Thom buildings including Champlain College, Lady Eaton College, and Bata Library, and the Faryon bridge.

Campus-Community Connections

The University Districts invite the community onto campus, address community needs, and provide spaces for experiential learning and research opportunities for students. The University-Integrated Seniors Village and Cleantech Commons will be located in the University Districts.

Future Possibilities

While anticipating the future needs of the University, our students and the community is challenging, the University Districts allow us to be ready for what comes next. Future developments on the Symons Campus will follow the process outlined in the Trent Lands Plan, allowing us to be responsive to the opportunities yet to come.
